Job description

BauWatch is entering an exciting new phase. Following the arrival of a new shareholder and continued international expansion, the organization is further professionalizing its finance function, governance and reporting capabilities.

To support this next stage of growth, we are looking for an ambitious and hands-on Group Tax & Treasury Manager. Reporting to the Group Accounting Manager, you will become part of the Group Finance team and work closely with local finance teams across Europe, external advisors, banks and senior management.

This is not a role in a mature corporate environment where all policies and processes already exist. We are looking for someone who enjoys building, improving and implementing. Someone who gets energy from creating structure, improving compliance and introducing smarter ways of working.

As the Group’s subject matter expert for Tax and Treasury, you will act as the trusted sparring partner for senior management and the Executive Leadership Team on all tax and treasury-related matters. You will translate complex technical topics into practical business advice, enabling informed strategic and operational decision-making while safeguarding compliance and supporting the Group’s continued growth. You will play a leading role in further professionalizing both disciplines throughout the organization. Besides ensuring compliance, you will actively optimize processes, implement new systems and support the business in developing scalable financing and tax structures that are fit for the next phase of international expansion.

Key Responsibilities

Tax

  • Develop and continuously improve the Group Tax Control Framework.

  • Ensure compliance with Corporate Income Tax (CIT), VAT and other applicable tax legislation across the Group.

  • Coordinate and manage the Group Corporate Income Tax compliance process, with specific responsibility for the Dutch fiscal unity.

  • Own and further professionalize the Group Transfer Pricing policy and ensure compliance with OECD and local regulations.

  • Monitor VAT compliance throughout the European organization and improve VAT-related processes and controls.

  • Identify tax risks and implement mitigating controls.

  • Coordinate relationships with external tax advisors and tax authorities in all operating countries.

  • Manage tax audits and ensure timely and professional communication with all stakeholders.

  • Identify and optimize the use of available tax incentives, including Innovation Box regimes and other fiscal facilities.

  • Support business initiatives, acquisitions and organizational changes from a tax perspective.

Treasury

  • Own the Group cash flow forecasting process and continuously improve forecasting accuracy.

  • Monitor liquidity across the Group and provide management with timely insights into cash requirements.

  • Manage day-to-day banking relationships and transactional banking processes.

  • Coordinate financing activities and maintain relationships with banks and other financing partners.

  • Monitor compliance with financing agreements and loan covenants.

  • Support long-term financing strategy and liquidity planning.

  • Lead the future implementation of Treasury Management Systems (TMS).

  • Explore and implement new financing solutions that support the continued growth of BauWatch.

  • Own the Group’s intercompany financing structure and dividend flows, ensuring efficient funding, regulatory compliance and alignment with the Group’s tax and treasury strategy.

Process Improvement & Projects

  • Design, implement and improve tax and treasury processes across the Group.

  • Drive automation initiatives and improve data quality and reporting.

  • Act as the business owner for tax and treasury related software implementations.

  • Collaborate closely with Finance, IT and Business teams to further professionalize the finance organization.

  • Stay informed about relevant tax legislation and financing developments and translate these into practical improvements.

Job requirements

Who are you?

The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with a pragmatic, hands-on mentality and enjoys working in a dynamic international organization where change is the norm rather than the exception. You enjoy making an impact. Rather than waiting for someone to tell you what needs to be done, you identify opportunities yourself and take ownership. You thrive in an environment where not everything has been defined yet. Instead of seeing a lack of structure as a problem, you see it as an opportunity to build something better.

You enjoy being the expert that others rely on. Whether discussing financing strategy with the CFO, advising country management on tax implications or coordinating with external advisors and banks, you are able to translate technical complexity into practical solutions and build trusted relationships throughout the organization. In short you are:

  • Hands-on and pragmatic

  • Self-starter with a proactive mindset

  • Comfortable operating in a changing environment

  • Able to create structure where it does not yet exist

  • Strong organizational awareness and stakeholder sensitivity

  • Curious about technology and process improvement

  • Enjoys working internationally

  • Results-oriented while maintaining high quality standards

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Tax, Fiscal Economics, Finance, Accounting or a related field.

  • 5 years of relevant experience in tax, treasury or a combination of both.

  • Experience within an international organization or tax advisory firm.

  • Strong knowledge of European VAT legislation and Corporate Income Tax.

  • Experience with Transfer Pricing documentation and compliance.

  • Experience with cash flow forecasting and corporate treasury processes.

  • Affinity with ERP systems, finance systems and process automation.

  • Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Fluent in English, written and spoken.
