Job description
You will
Take the lead in bringing us to the next step in the professionalization of our accounting and finance organization. In this role you will work closely with the local finance teams and the rest of the organization as well. The focus of this role is to develop and implement formalized processes to make sure accounting is done in a structured way which is key for steering our business. To achieve this we will for example set up an accounting manual, make sure ERP systems are set up correctly, train users and make sure that financial reporting is timely and accurate and that we are compliant with financial reporting guidelines (IFRS and local GAAP) and legal requirements. Basically the role requires you to determine what the organization needs to reach their goals and to implement the processes needed but it also asks you not to be afraid to roll up your sleeves yourself. Another important responsibility will be to assure that we are compliant to the new CSRD guidelines in 2025. So the internal control systems need to be developed. As the head of accounting you will take a leading role in this project.
You report in to the Group Finance Director and be a part the Group Finance Department.
Your key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the BauWatch Accounting Manual and financial reporting processes.
- Maintain financial reporting processes and compliancy with processes and guidelines within the organization.
- Monthly consolidation and review procedures to assure accurate internal and external financial reporting.
- Work with the finance teams to ensure that financial policies and procedures are followed.
- Make sure that we are compliant with financial reporting guidelines, both IFRS and local GAAP.
- Coordinate the implementation and maintenance of financial systems, including accounting software, reporting tools, and other financial applications in order to assure compliance with financial reporting guidelines.
- Responsible for the preparation and distribution of financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Coordinate and assure quality of the year-end processes including audit process with external auditors.
- Identify and recommend process improvements to streamline finance processes and procedures.
- Monitor compliance with internal controls and ensure adherence to company policies and regulations.
- Work collaboratively with other departments to achieve common goals and objectives.
You will be based in The Netherlands and will cover all our new country organizations in Europe.

We also think you need the following:
- Master’s degree in Accounting, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in audit or accounting, preferably in a multinational environment.
- Strong knowledge of finance processes and reporting guidelines including systems.
- Experience with (external) financial reporting and audit processes.
- Knowledge of IFRS is a pre.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Detail-oriented and highly organized
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Excellent knowledge of the English language, both spoken and written.
- Knowledge of the French, Spanish, Italian and Polish language are a pre.
