Job description

As BauWatch continues to grow across Europe, efficient and reliable purchasing is key to keeping our operations running smoothly. The Operational Buyer ensures that day-to-day purchasing needs are handled quickly and correctly — supporting the Supply Chain organization, Senior Buyers, and Facility Management in building a professional and data-driven procurement process.

The role

You’ll take ownership of all operational purchasing activities, from processing purchase requests in our ticket system to keeping our article and supplier data up to date in SAP. You’ll make sure that materials and services are available on time, coordinate with suppliers and internal stakeholders, and support the Senior Buyers with administrative and process-related tasks.

This role combines daily execution with a continuous improvement mindset — helping to make our procurement processes smarter and more efficient every day.

Key Responsibilities

  •      Process purchasing requests from across the organization (e.g. PPM materials, office supplies, uniforms, tools, and general consumables).

  •      Create and follow up purchase orders in SAP

  •      Maintain and update item master data, supplier information, and pricing.

  •      Support Senior Buyers in supplier communication and data management.

  •      Support facility management for operational purchases and service (maintenance, cleaning, utilities, etc.).

  •      Check deliveries and invoices for accuracy and completeness.

  •      Ensure compliance with BauWatch procurement procedures.

  •      Contribute to process improvements and automation within operational purchasing.

You will report directly to the Supply Chain Leader and work closely with the team within Supply Chain & Production.

Job requirements

You are a structured and service-oriented team player who enjoys organizing, following up, and keeping things running efficiently. You’re accurate in your work, comfortable using systems, and able to communicate clearly with suppliers and colleagues.

Qualifications

  • Vocational or bachelor-level, preferably in Supply Chain, Procurement, or Business Administration.

  • Experience in a similar administrative or coordinating role is an advantage, but not required.

  • Strong administrative and communication skills.

  • Familiar with ERP systems (SAP experience is a plus).

  • Good knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel.

  • Fluent in English; Dutch is a plus.
