Do you dream of being part of a fast-growing European market leader with a disruptive offering? Then we should talk.

Job description

BauWatch is Europe's #1 in temporary security solutions, growing 30% Year-Over-Year (YoY). We're in 11 countries, 44,000+ projects completed, and we're moving fast. Our vision: “Zero incidence, faster delivery - through connected site intelligence that protects by design.”

We combine ruggedized monitoring towers, sensors, access control solutions, intelligent edge devices, fleet management, and 24/7 remote monitoring into a connected system. Construction and temporary sites are among the most dangerous work environments - we're building the intelligence to catch security and safety threats before they become incidents.

BauWatch has disrupted the market for temporary security, which we still see as blue-ocean opportunity in most European countries. Backed by a leading purpose-driven investor and with teams already present in the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, France, UK, Italy, Poland, Austria, Ireland and Spain.

Job requirements

We are seeking a Senior Finance Specialist (m/f/d) based in Valencia.

You will support the BauWatch business in the Spanish market, and by doing this you will work closely together with both the local Country Managing Director (MD) and the finance organization.

Since BauWatch in Spain is still a very young organization you have the chance to build the finance organization together with your two team members.

Reporting to the Group Finance Director, you will collaborate with the Group Finance team to ensure financial policies and procedures are applied consistently, financial systems are correctly set up, reporting is accurate and timely, and the business remains compliant with all local tax and legal requirements.

Next to this a critical and commercial mindset is required to work closely together with the MD and to challenge the organization in reaching it’s goals. BauWatch is a very performance oriented organization. The role is part of the Spanish management team.

As BauWatch expands into new countries, starting with Portugal, you will support the implementation of finance processes in this start-up market.

What are your responsibilities and duties?

• Assist local country MD and finance employees in implementing finance processes, procedures, and systems (might require occasionally traveling abroad).

• Work with the finance teams in Spain and abroad to ensure that financial policies and procedures are followed.

• Coordinating invoicing and credit control.

• Make sure that we are compliant with local tax regulation (VAT and CIT) and financial reporting guidelines in collaboration with external consultants.

• Assist in the implementation and maintenance of financial systems, including accounting software, reporting tools, and other financial applications.

• Provide support to local country MD in financial planning and budgeting.

• Assist in the preparation and distribution of financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

• Responsible for the Spanish (and Portuguese) administration and compliance with internal reporting and accounting guidelines and deadlines.

• Identify and recommend process improvements to streamline (finance) processes and procedures.

• Monitor compliance with internal controls and ensure adherence to company policies and regulations.

• Work collaboratively with other departments to achieve common goals and objectives.

We ask quite a lot of our new finance specialist, but that doesn't scare you off. On the contrary, you take the lead and get to work. You feel comfortable in a high demanding, fast changing environment and thrive whilst building a new and successful organization. The role requires you to determine what kind of support the local business needs to reach their goals and to implement the processes needed but it also asks you not to be afraid to roll up your sleeves yourself. But perhaps the most important thing is that you have an infectious energy that creates impact, gets things done and people move.

We also think you need the following:

• Collaborative mindset with a hands-on attitude.

• A completed degree in a relevant field (Economía, Finanzas y Contabilidad).

• Experience in finance or accounting, preferably in a multinational environment.

• Good understanding of finance processes, procedures, and systems.

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

• Detail-oriented and highly organized.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; SAPbyDesign and PowerBI skills are a plus.

• Fluency in English and Spanish required; knowledge of the Portuguese language is a plus.

What we offer

• Dynamic and rewarding role: A challenging position with a high degree of autonomy and flexibility within an innovative and rapidly growing international company.

• Professional development: Opportunity to grow your own team as the company expands.

• Competitive remuneration: An attractive salary package including bonuses and additional benefits (life insurance, wellbeing initiatives).

• 23 paid working days of annual leave, plus public holidays according to the employee’s contractual base region in Spain.

• Regular quarterly in-person team meetings to support collaboration, reinforce our team culture, and promote close cross-border cooperation.
