Interim Front-End Developer (6 Months– 3 Days on-site)

As an Interim Front-End Developer, you will be responsible for developing, improving, and maintaining our web applications and platforms during a six-month assignment. You will work with modern technologies such as React, TypeScript, and contemporary front-end tooling, making a direct contribution to the continued development of our products and user experience.

You will collaborate closely with developers, architects, Product Owners, and other stakeholders across our development teams. We are looking for someone who can quickly become productive within an existing environment, take ownership of features independently, and actively contribute to technical improvements and quality initiatives.

Your Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance scalable, user-friendly web applications

• Contribute to and maintain our React component library

• Independently take ownership of and deliver front-end features

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile/Scrum environment

• Improve development processes, code quality, and front-end standards

• Actively contribute to technical innovation and continuous improvement

• Support the development of solutions where software and hardware come together

We are looking for a hands-on developer who can add value from day one, quickly integrate into ongoing projects, and help further professionalize our front-end environment.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience as a Front-End Developer

• Strong knowledge of React and TypeScript

• Experience with Tailwind CSS

• Experience with testing frameworks such as Jest

• Experience building and maintaining component libraries/design systems

• Solid understanding of Git and modern software development practices

• Ability to work independently and become productive quickly within an existing codebase

• Available for an on-site assignment

Nice to Have

• Experience with GitLab CI/CD

• Experience with Next.js

• Experience working with Figma and collaborating closely with designers

• Full-stack development experience, preferably with Java

• A one-year contract with the intention of a permanent contract afterward

• A salary between €3,000 and €5,200 per month, depending on experience

Where will you work?

You will work at BauWatch Technology, the R&D and software development department of the BauWatch Group. This is where we build the technology behind our security solutions.

The department consists of approximately 50 engineers working across multiple teams, each with its own focus area. Much of our work is at the intersection of IoT, smart technology, and automation.

The atmosphere is informal. We build serious software, but there is always room for humor and a good team spirit.
